Brethren,
I don't know about you, but I was brought up in a religious household, that practiced the veneration and worship of Idols.
My mom was quite fond of a certain idol, that is known by the name of Guadalupe. My mom revered that idol, and was quite fond of her.
As a child, I was taken to the Catholic church and personally experienced a religious ritual, and saw idols that were propped up in high places. Kneeling pads were set before idols, for everyone who wanted to bow down to worship these man made gods.
But they're really not gods at all!
How do I know?
Well, because sometime ago, the LORD said to me: And you will know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH will set you free.
HE revealed to me, that they're not gods at all. Through Psalm 135:15-18 GOD HIMSELF, said to me: “The idols of the nation's are silver and gold,
The work of men's hands.
They have mouths, but they do not speak. Eye's they have, but they do not see;
They have ears, but they cannot hear;
Nor is there any breath in their mouths.
Those who make them are like them.”
Right, Beloved!
Those who make them, cannot see, nor hear, that that that Most HOLY Book, the BIBLE is simply GOD'S LIVING WORD, commanding all not to make such things, nor to bow down to worship them. They don't see nor hear, that it's GOD Who says that those things are LIFELESS!
They are dead!
Just like everyone who Believes in them.
Everyone who Trusts in them.
And in HIS LOVE for us, it's no wonder that in the 46th chapter of Isaiah, the LORD has the prophet draw a picture for us of the siege of Babylon and the evacuation of its idols. The carts and carriages that carry those idols, creak, and the animals groan under the heavy load of many idols.
In direct contrast, Isaiah 46:3 assures us, that GOD carries HIS children, from birth. Yes, and in Jeremiah 1:5 the LORD assures us, that within our mothers womb, HE formed us. And because HE did, HIS LOVE for us is greater, than that of even our mothers.
So we can each be certain of what Isaiah 46:4 assures us of when we read: “Even to your old age, I am HE, and even to gray hairs I will carry you!”
The contrast is precise and vivid in the Hebrew text: The carts and carriages were loaded with the weight of idols. But we, on the other hand, are loaded upon our LORD's shoulders. Yes, we, and even those of our household. For Acts 16:31 assures us, saying: "Believe on the LORD JESUS and you will be SAVED, you and your household.”
Brethren,
I can't figure why some people prefer to embrace dead idols, than embracing the WORD of LIVING GOD. As far as I'm concerned, idols are a burden, a thing to be carried. But the LIVING GOD, on the other hand, has gladly carried us from the womb.
Yes, the LORD, our GOD, has made us, Beloved, and not we ourselves. So nothing could be more comforting, than to know HIM, Who with HIS WORD gave us LIFE.
It is HE, Who LOVES and cares for us, and is guiding us unto Everlasting LIFE. And so in Isaiah 46:4 HIS PROMISE stands firm, asserting: “Even to your old age, I AM HE,
And even to gray hairs I will carry you!”
Brethren,
Would you agree, that that PROMISE includes every last care and worry, we will ever have?
And do we each agree, that HE has proven HIMSELF trustworthy, and is able to carry us, even to old age?
Brethren,
I pray that we can each trust that the good work that the LORD begun in our hearts, sometime ago. HE is able, and POWERFUL to finish?
And if there be any doubt, even that, GOD is able to diminish? 🤔
GOD wants us to Believe, Beloved!
To Believe, and accept HIS invitation from Mathew 11:28-29, where HE Personally invites each of us, saying: “Come unto ME, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take MY yoke upon you and learn from ME, for I AM gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
And just what is that place of rest, Beloved Brethren?
Well, that place is a place that when through the eye's of FAITH, we embrace the WORD of the LIVING GOD.
It lead us to obedience to GOD, and HE places us in HIS place of REST for our souls. It's a place for everyone who is at PEACE with GOD. It's the place that we ourselves arrived, when we put our FAITH in the SACRIFICE of HIS Son, CHRIST the LORD.
It's a place where so many will never arrive, because they reject the knowledge that comes from the HOLY SCRIPTURES. Thus, Hosea 4:6 has these WORDS to say: “MY people perish for lack of knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for ME; because you have forgotten the law of your GOD, I also will forget your children.”
And because so many are prone to forget GOD. Hebrews 3:13-19 admonishes us, saying, that those who "did not manifest these traits before GOD." We're rejected by GOD, and denied entry into HIS REST. And that's the only place of rest for souls, Beloved.
So Hebrews 3:13-19 makes it abundantly clear to everyone who wishes to enter GOD'S REST, by saying:
“But exhort one another daily, while it is called today, lest any of you be hardened by the decietfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of CHRIST if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: Today, if you will hear HIS VOICE, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion."
For who, having heard, rebelled?
Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses?
Now with whom was HE angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?
And to whom did HE swear that they would not enter HIS REST, but to those who did not obey?
So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief?
Why could they not enter in, Beloved?Because they didn't Believe the WORD of the LIVING GOD?
Because they wouldn't embrace JESUS, as LORD, to obey?
Wasn't it, Beloved, because the master of deception, lied to them!
Wasn't it because Satan himself, made them believe, that they would be accepted by GOD, even if they did not comply with GOD,through obedience to HIS WORD?
Surely, it was!
And the people of the world, are decieved just like them!
They fail to consider, that to whom we present ourselves slaves to obey, we are that one's slaves whom we obey. Right!
We are slaves of the one we obey.
Consider how Romans 6:16 reveals this, by saying: “Do you not know that to Whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to RIGHTEOUSNESS.”
In other words, we are either slaves of the devil, by doing the will and desires of the devil. Or we are slaves of the LIVING GOD, who sends us as sheep in the midst of wolves, to LOVE our fellow man, and preach the GOSPEL, just as often as we can.
Do we each Believe that, Beloved Brethren?
Well, if there be any in doubt, 1st John 3:4 expounds, by saying: “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.”
Did you catch that?
Breaking GOD'S commandments, is lawlessness.
And lawlessness, is simply doing the will, and the desires of him, whom the LORD refers to in John 8:44, saying: “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the TRUTH, because there is no TRUTH in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
With that said, and abundantly clarified, Beloved. Can we now each see, why 1st John 3:5-11 assures us, that our Beloved LORD, JESUS CHRIST, became the Son of Man?
Consider how it reads:
“And you know that HE was manifested to take away our sins, and in HIM there is no sin. Whoever sins has neither seen HIM nor known HIM. Little children, let no one decieve you. He who practices RIGHTEOUSNESS is RIGHTEOUS, just as HE is RIGHTEOUS. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of GOD was manifested, that HE might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of GOD does not sin, for HIS seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of GOD. In this the children of GOD and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice RIGHTEOUSNESS is not of GOD, nor is he who does not LOVE his Brother.
For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should LOVE one another.”
Brethren,
We each LOVE one another, don't we?
And because we do, we can each clearly understand, why 1st Corrinthians 13:2 says these profound WORDS to those who don't.
Consider them, “And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all FAITH, so that I could remove mountains, but have not LOVE, I am nothing.”
Nothing?
Yes, nothing!
Eye-opening, wouldn't you say?
Very!
Well please know that that's what the WORD of the LIVING GOD, does!
HE opens the eye's of the blind.
Because the time of the Rapture of the Church is so near, HE doesn't want anyone to get left behind! And neither do I, Beloved!
Neither do I!
So Worship GOD.
