Brethren, Hebrews 3 assures us, that in order to enter GOD'S REST, FAITH is required. We each need to consider how it reads very carefully. Let me share Hebrews 3:14-19 with you and get your thoughts on GOD’S WORD. It reads like this: “For we have become partakers of CHRIST if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: "Today, if you will hear HIS VOICE, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion." For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? Now with whom was HE angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? In other words, wasn't it with those who practiced the will and desires of the devil that GOD was angry with? Who fell dead in the wilderness. And to whom did HE swear that they would not enter HIS REST, but to those who would not obey? And without FAITH, Beloved, how can anyone obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. With that said, Do you Believe everything you hear or read? Or do you like to be absolutely certain that what you're being made aware of is absolutely true? My advice to everyone who is seeking to know the TRUTH, is to trust, but also verify. Consider this, during his time in office, the former US President, Ronald Reagan wanted to believe what he was being told in his political dealings with others, but since the security of our country depended on him, and what he did with the information that was brought to his attention, he did everything he had to do in order to verify the information that was presented to him. Would you say that was wise of him? 🤔 I am absolutely certain that it was! Because Acts 17:11 tells us that the Bereans had a similar attitude about knowing The TRUTH. They received the teachings of The WORD with humility, and all readiness, but searched The SCRIPTURES daily to find out whether these things were True. In other words, the Bereans didn’t simply Believe what was told them. No! But they also verified it on their own. And I pray that we would each agree, Beloved. That it's wise for each of us to do the same. Yes, to Trust, but also verify what the preacher says! Whether we receive our BIBLE teaching through church, radio, or Television, we need to be absolutely certain that The TRUTH is being taught. Right! And not be found among those who later realize that it's actually deception that they bought! Brethren, We need to test what we hear against what GOD’s inspired WORD teaches. For example, GOD, through 2 Timothy 3:14-17, gives us this instruction: “But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from WHOM you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known The HOLY SCRIPTURES, which are able to make you wise for SALVATION through FAITH which is in CHRIST JESUS.” Yes, through FAITH, which is in The LIVING WORD Of GOD, CHRIST JESUS. For 2 Timothy 3:16 assures us that, “All SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of GOD, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in RIGHTEOUSNESS, that the man of GOD may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” For every good work, Beloved! For 2 Timothy 2:15 assures us that we are to “be diligent to present ourselves approved to GOD, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing The WORD Of TRUTH.” If we do this, Beloved, we will neither be ashamed, unapproved of, nor deceived by those who teach “a different gospel,” or “pervert” The GOSPEL of CHRIST as Galatians 1:6-7 tells us, "We are to be diligent” for Mathew 7:15-20 warns us to be aware of false teachers, who come to us as wolves in sheeps clothing. Consider how it reads: "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” Brethren, Would you agree that among the best fruit that one can produce, is the fruit produced by practicing LOVE for our fellow man? Yes? And to practice our LOVE for them, by sharing The GOSPEL with as many as we can? Personally, I believe that it's among the very best fruit that one can ever hope to produce. For The LORD HIMSELF makes this firm declaration in Romans 10:15 saying, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach The GOSPEL of PEACE, and bring Good News of Good Things. And even through Proverbs 11:30, the LORD assures us saying, “The fruit of the RIGHTEOUS is a Tree of LIFE, And he who wins Soul's is wise.” And Beloved, That's how GOD would have us see things in our eye's. For anyone who thinks differently, should consider Proverbs 11:31, that reads like this: “If the RIGHTEOUS will be recompensed on the earth, how much more the ungodly and the sinner." And so Beloved, I pray that we would be about our FATHER's business and be a Soul winner. And that we do all things for The GLORY of JESUS CHRIST our LORD!
